I like this blog post "Brands do not get social Media" because Adrian (@gravity7) is right; “Where, brand people, are we the people? What we care about and find interesting. Not profit motive — real motive.” My comment to Adrian on his blog is that he nailed it. Social is about what we really believe, where our real energy is, what we care about. We want to connect with those who share that with us, not a coupon code. Profit, money, plays a role in everyones life, we all have to feed our kids and make the mortgage or rent, but we want to connect socially over the more meaningful aspects of life, our values, beliefs, and what and who we care about.
I am trying to make luvume a Brand that manifests what I care about and believe, and hope that connects with other people. Let me know what you think.
